Assistance distributed

TIRUPATTUR: On the final day of ‘jamabandhi' held at Tirupattur on Friday, Collector S. Nagarajan distributed assistance worth Rs. 4.08 lakh to 34 beneficiaries under government welfare schemes.
The ‘jamabandhi' began at the Tirupattur tahsildar's office on June 15. The Collector, during the valedictory programme, said that a total of 2,298 petitions had been received during the ‘jamabandhi.' Of this, 1,226 petitions sought financial assistance under the social security scheme, a release said.
Camp for differently abled
At a camp organised under the Indira Gandhi National Welfare Scheme for differently abled on behalf of the social security scheme at Tirupattur on Friday, 684 persons with disability above 50 per cent were identified for financial assistance. Orders to grant assistance to them were issued immediately. Differently abled persons, who possessed identity cards, attended the camp, a release said.
Sub Collector of Tirupattur Lalitha Lakshmi, Members of Legislative Assembly and government officials were present.
