Twenty-seven lottery tickets seized; one arrested

Coimbatore: Saravanampatty police seized 27 lottery tickets and arrested N. Ayyasamy (45) of Ganapathy on Friday.

Police have registered a case in this connection.

Pirated CDs seized

Kuniamuthur police arrested H. Abdul Karim (28) of Selvapuram and seized 43 pirated CDs and DVDs of latest Tamil films on Friday.

Police said they intercepted a man in Kuniamuthur when he was found to be in possession of CDs and DVDs.

Child dies

A two-and-a-half-year-old male child died after reportedly consuming kerosene kept at home on Thursday. Police said the child was admitted to a private hospital in Mettupalayam initially. But, he died while being taken to another hospital. Mettupalayam police have registered a case.
