AMMAN: Three Indians moved into the title round in various age categories in the Asian junior individual squash championship here on Friday. The two big wins came in the under-19 section where second seed Ramit Tandon beat compatriot Mahesh Mangaonkar 9-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-8 to book a showdown with Pakistan's Danish Atlas Khan. In the girls' section, Anaka Alankamony made short work of Malaysia's Tan Yang Xin 11-7, 11-6, 11-8 and will meet top seed Tsz Wing Tong of Hong Kong. Tong downed Aparajitha Balamurukan in four well-contested games 14-12, 11-9, 9-11, 15-13. The other Indian to reach the final was Saumya Karki in the under-17 category. She beat Malaysia's Sue Anna Yong 11-3, 11-4, 11-2. Despite not making it to the final round, the five losing Indians ensured bronze medals. They were Ranjit Singh (boys' under-13), Adya Advani (girls' under-15), Kush Kumar (boys' under-17), Aparajitha and Mahesh Mangaonkar (boys' under-19). Other results (semifinals): Boys: Under-13: Mohd. Farez Izwan Mohd. Mukhtar bt Ranjit Singh 11-7, 9-11, 11-7, 11-9. Under-17: Ahmad Khaleel Alsaraj (Jordan) bt Kush Kumar 11-9, 11-8, 12-10. Girls: Under-15: Uen Shan Choi (HK) bt Adya Advani 11-7, 11-6, 11-6 .
