Journalists plan dharna on Tuesday

Special Correspondent

PANAJI: Members of the Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ), a body of working journalists, will stage a dharna at Azad Maidan in the city on June 28 from 10 a.m. to noon to protest against the delay in the notification of wage board for journalists and non-journalists working in print media.

Meeting

The decision to stage a dharna was taken at a meeting of GUJ executive held on Thursday.

GUJ president Pandurang Gaonkar and general secretary Vithaldas Hegde appealed to all journalists and non-journalists of newspapers and news agencies from Goa to participate in the dharna to pressure the Union Government to notify the Majithia Wage Board's recommendations without any further delay.
