Southwest monsoon likely to increase cloud cover

Namakkal: A moderate revival of the southwest monsoon is likely to increase cloud cover and could bring isolated precipitation, says the weather forecast report from the Agrometeorological Advisory Services attached to the Veterinary College and Research Institute.

The four-day report till June 28 says that the wind from the Western direction would continue at a speed ranging between 6 and 9 km an hour. The maximum temperature range would be around 35°C and 36°C while the minimum temperature would be nearly 24°C.

Relative Humidity in the higher end would be around 80 percent whereas in the lower end it is expected to be around 40 and 44 percent, the report added. Noting that the feed intake by birds and egg production would be normal, poultry farmers are advised to continue feeding the layer birds 17 percent protein and 2450 kcal/kg energy.

Professor and Head of the Department Dr. R. Ravi noted that post mortem observations in chicken brought for the diagnosis at the Avian Disease Laboratory here has revealed that they died due to liver problems and infections.
