KSEB engineer dead

KOCHI: Merin Isaac, 26, an engineer who sustained severe burns in the fire and explosion in the control panel of a generator at the Moolamattam power plant of the Idukki hydroelectric project, on June 20, succumbed to her injuries at a private hospital near here on Saturday around 11.15 a.m.

Isaac was brought to the hospital along with another severely injured engineer, K.S. Prabha, 50, from the medical college hospital at Kolencherry.

Isaac was admitted to the Burns ICU with over 60 per cent burns. She belonged to Thekkolickal Home, Koovakkandam in Idukki district. The condition of Mr. Prabha remains critical.
