State to seek price stability fund

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State government has decided to take steps to tackle the steep fall in the prices of cardamom. A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Saturday decided to take steps to make available bank loans to farmers on the cardamom stored at the Spices Park godown at Puttadi. No rent will be charged till the prices improved. The Chief Minister told the meeting that the State would ask the Centre to provide a cardamom price stability fund of Rs.250 crore. — Special Correspondent
