India loses again
Bristol: A sloppy batting display saw the Indian women's team suffer a 25-run defeat against New Zealand in the NatWest women's T20 quadrangular series here on Saturday.
Invited to bat, New Zealand posted a modest 125 in the stipulated 20 overs, courtesy Elizabeth Perry, who cracked an unbeaten 41-ball 48.
Needing 126 to win, India was restricted to 100 for seven for its second consecutive defeat in the tournament.
The scores: England 125 in 20 overs (Elizabeth Perry 48, Katey Martin 29, Nicola Browne 22; Jhulan Goswami two for 18) bt India 100 for seven in 20 overs (Mithali Raj 24, Amita Sharma 26; Nicola Browne two for 17).
