Ed.CET results declared

HYDERABAD: Nearly 97 per cent of candidates cleared the Education Common Entrance Test (Ed.CET-2011), the results of which were announced here on Saturday.

The Ed. CET is conducted for admissions to B.Ed colleges across the State.

As many as 1,92,389 students have qualified among the 1,97,420 students who appeared for the exam.

Among these, 1,04,866 were women candidates and the remaining 87,523 were men.

Five subjects

The test was conducted in five subject contents namely Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, Social Studies, and English.

The Ed.CET-2011 Chairman D.N. Reddy said that admissions are likely to be held in the third week of July through web-based counselling.

The Admissions and Fee Regulatory Committee is yet to finalise the fee structure for B.Ed courses this year, he said. About 65,000 seats are available in 615 B.Ed colleges in the State.

Another two new B.Ed colleges are expected to get approval.
