Minister inaugurates fasteners plant

HYDERABAD: The Union Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallam Raju laid the foundation stone for Aerospace Quality Fasteners plant, to be run exclusively by women on a commercial scale at Midhani here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Raju said that women have an eye for precision and discipline that enable them in manufacturing value added products such as fasteners.
He also appreciated Midhani for playing a significant role in manufacturing of crucial special materials and stressed the need to integrate all the facilities and resources available to achieve self-sufficiency in the country.
In his address, Midhani Chairman and Managing Director, M. Narayana Rao said there was an incredible market potential for fasteners of various special alloys consequent to growth of aerospace industry and indigenisation of these products would lead to considerable foreign exchange saving for the country.
