DHARMAPURI: One person was struck dead by lightning and a woman who witnessed the incident collapsed and died on the spot, at Solianur in Dharmapuri district on Saturday. Police sources said that K. Selvaganapathy, 19, working in a brick kiln, belonged to Vellamankadu while R. Bothammal, 48, hailed from Solianur village. A. Venkatachalam, 60, and R. Mayilsamy, 25, both from Vellammankadu were injured in the incident. They have been admitted to Salem Government Hospital. Higher Education Minister P. Palaniappan visited the injured and relatives of the dead along with Collector R. Lilly at Omalur Government Hospital where the bodies were sent for post-mortem on Saturday night.
