Inspector threatened

Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD: A Gujarat police inspector has been threatened with “dire consequences” for arresting 14 Somali pirates at Nandel, a small port near Una in Junagadh district of the Saurashtra region, last Sunday.

D.G. Limbachiya, the police inspector in charge of the case, said he received a call from Somalia on Friday evening, and as he could not understand the language, gave the phone to the interpreter, who later told him that the call had come from the leader of the pirate gang.
