Man found dead with torture marks

VILLUPURAM: The body of G. Nagarathinam (45) of M. Thirukkanur in Tindivanam block, bearing torture marks, was found near Marakkanam on Sunday.

The police sources said that Nagarathinam was always seen with his three friends namely S. Boss alias Bhaskaran of Nadukuppam, P. Pushpalingam of M. Thirukkanur and G. Elumalai of Ma. Pudupakkam.

Money missing

All of them were daily wage workers and a couple of days ago they quarrelled over money matters. It was claimed that one of them had Rs. 11,000 in cash with him and after having a liquor party, the money went missing.

Suspicion

Since, they suspected Nagarathinam they started abusing him, resulting in fearsome quarrel, which came to an end at the interference of the local people. In such circumstances, Nagarathian was found dead but his companions were missing. The police have registered a case and launched the hunt for the trio.
