PALAKKAD: An illegal liquor bottling unit was detected at a guest house at Chandranagar here on Sunday. Officials of the Excise Department seized 625 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and two bottling machines from there. They also seized spirit and flavour and colouring chemicals from the guest house. Deputy Commissioner of Excise D. Santhosh said one person who was engaged in filling the bottles was arrested. The Deputy Commissioner said the guest house was taken on rent by Super Star Distilleries, Pampadi, Thrissur. But it was not known whether the illegal bottling was going on with the knowledge of the company authorities, he said.
