GULBARGA: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has announced that, henceforth, his first official hour every day during a tour of State would be a ‘farmers' hour', which he will spend hearing out farmers and finding on-the-spot solutions to their problems. Accepting this suggestion made by an organic farmer, the Chief Minister, who was interacting with farmers at Melkunda (B) village near here on Saturday, said: “I would follow this by spending at least one hour with farmers in beginning of the day, not only during a tour, but also in Bangalore during Janata Darshan every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at Krishna (home office of the Chief Minister).” The Chief Minister announced that from next year, the prize amount given to farmers for various achievements would be increased to Rs. 1 lakh.
