Srikakulam ZP chief joins YSR Congress

Staff Reporter

SRIKAKULAM: Srikakulam Zilla Parishad chairperson Palavalasa Rajasekharam and 10 ZPTC members and 12 mandal parishad presidents joined YSR Congress party which held its first ever public meeting in Palakonda on Sunday.

Mr. Rajasekharam's exit is being seen as a big jolt to the party as he was with the Congress for the last four decades and served as Rajya Sabha member and MLA previously.

The Congress party has 30 ZPTC members of whom 10 have joined YSR Congress in the presence of the party's spokesperson Ambati Rambabu and Narasannapeta MLA Dharmana Krishnadas.

Mr. Rambabu urged the people to teach a lesson to the Congress for ignoring the contribution of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy to the state. He alleged that the party could not keep its promise of providing financial aid to the families of persons who died or committed suicides after YSR's death.
