Dominant Vijetha clinches four titles

HYDERABAD: K. Vijetha of Lal Bahadur Stadium Training Centre dominated the final day of the Hyderabad District badminton championship winning four titles at the Fateh Maidan Indoor Stadium here.

Karvy wins

Karvy won the Hyundai Corporate Cup cricket tournament, in the Dravyansh Cricket & Sports Organisers sports meet for corporates, defeating Shore Infotech by 41 runs in the final at Venkatapathi Raju Academy here.

Africa United posts win

Africa United (Cameroon) scored a 3-1 win over Hyderabad Sporting in the league phase of the Johnson memorial football tournament at the Gymkhana Grounds here.

Sporting took the lead in the 14th minute through Talah only to see Africa United score the equaliser when Mednour capitalise on a perfect corner from Pierre in the 20th minute. United soon took the 2-1 lead when Pierre scored in the 28th minute. In the second session, United sealed the issue when Pierre scored his second goal in the 57th minute.

In another match, Taranaka Club defeated Maisaram Stars by 2-1. Maisram took the lead in the 14th minute when Salman Amoodi was on target but in the 26th minute, Tarnaka levelled the scores with Fannaz finding the target. Vijay struck the winner in the 49th minute.

Charminar Cup

Chittoor District Charminar Cup T-20 cricket tournament (under-19) for boys will be organised by Charminar Sports Academy at Sri Venkateswara University Tarakarama Ground from June 27 to 29. All Associations, Clubs, Academies and Colleges can take part. Call 9392436473.
