Protest held against fuel price hike

Staff Correspondent

KOLAR: Activists of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a protest at Andersonpet in Kolar Gold Fields on Saturday against the steep hike in prices of kerosene, diesel and cooking gas.

Led by CPI(M) district unit secretary G. Arjunan, they raised slogans against the ‘anti-people' policies of the United Progressive Alliance Government. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Arjunan said the fuel price hike would adversely affect the life of the common man and demanded a rollback.
