VISAKHAPATNAM: Minister for Tribal Welfare P. Balaraju has appreciated Collector Lav Agarwal for his efforts to improve the Intermediate pass percentage in Government Junior Colleges in the State when he was Director of Intermediate Education in his previous posting.

Mr. Agarwal had impressed on the Government to allot funds to train students of Government colleges and achieved the results, Mr. Balaraju said during the valedictory function of the education fortnight celebrations here.

He was particularly happy that the GJC at Upper Sileru was among the 11 government colleges that achieved cent per cent pass.

He was happy that the government colleges performed on par with the corporate colleges.

Mr. Balaraju handed over merit scholarships to the top three students in each group. Merit certificates and mementoes were given to Principals of Upper Sileru, Deverapalli, K. Kotapadu, KD Peta and Nakkapalli GJCs, for being the top five in the district.
