Vatal rides camel to protest hike
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha leader Vatal Nagaraj on Sunday protested against the recent hike in fuel prices by riding a camel at the Kempe Gowda Bus Station in the city.
Astride the camel, Mr. Nagaraj, with supporters in tow, displayed empty kerosene cans and LPG cylinders to voice his opposition to the recent hike in the prices of diesel, kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
He threatened to call for Karnataka bandh to protest the hike. “The date will be finalised after holding discussions with other pro-Kannada organisations,” he said, and appealed to the public to support the bandh.
Mr. told presspersons that the hike would affect the common man.
