API past chairman Y. Madhusudhana Rao examining a patient in Vijayawada on Sunday. VIJAYAWADA: The Association of Physicians of India (API), Krishna district Chapter, has launched Dr. P.S. Bhaskar Rao Memorial Free Hypertension Clinic in the city. Senior physician and API past chairman Y. Madhusudhana Rao inaugurated the clinic at IMA hall here on Sunday. API Krishna district secretary P. Guru Prasad said the clinic was opened in memory of Dr. Bhaskar Rao, who was one of the founders of the API. In all, 40 people turned up at the clinic on the first day. The API was planning to conduct free hypertension camp every last Sunday hereafter, he said. The API Krishna district chairman S. Rama Krishna, vice-president Meher. N. Prasad, and others were present. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) conducted a mega medical camp at B.V. Subba Reddy High School in Kandrika here. As many as 520 patients attended the camp that was inaugurated by VMC Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) M. Satyanarayana Raju. IMA Vijayawada unit president A.S. Rama Rao said that 36 varieties of medicines worth Rs. 20,000 were distributed to the patients. Kusalava Motors Pvt. Limited conducted a free medical camp at Adavinekkalam near here as part of its corporate social responsibility. Its MD B. Venkat Reddy inaugurated the camp.
