Mob beats up man accused of murder

New Delhi: A man with six criminal cases against him and his associate were beaten up by a mob in west Delhi after he shot at a witness, the police said on Sunday.

Praveen was beaten up by locals on Friday in Kanjhawala village after he opened fire from a homemade revolver to threaten Joginder Singh, a witness in a criminal case lodged against Praveen.

“Praveen fired at Joginder Singh after being provoked by Gaurav Kumar, the co-accused in the case. One shot was fired, but it did not hit anyone,” Deputy Commissioner of Police B.S. Jaiswal. — IANS
