Alleged robbers held
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: Five men allegedly involved in robbery and auto-lifting cases have been arrested at Uttam Nagar in West Delhi. The police claim to have seized a country-made firearm, six live cartridges and two stolen motorcycles from them.
The accused have been identified as Babu Khan, 19, Sonu, 20, Vicky, 21, Kashim, 22, and Jagdish. Acting on a tip-off that they would assemble in a school at Hastsal on Saturday, the police laid a trap and arrested them. During interrogation, they purportedly disclosed that they were planning to target a jewellery shop.
According to the police, the accused had stolen two motorcycles from Dwarka and Uttam Nagar. About a week ago, they had robbed a man of a laptop, some cash and other belongings.
