Udupi: President of district unit of Janata Dal (Secular) Deviprasad Shetty said on Saturday that Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa had resorted to cheap politics by challenging the former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to take a truth-test at the Sri Manjunatha temple in Dharmasthala on June 25. Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Shetty said Mr. Yeddyurappa had realized his folly of the truth test too late in the day, after he was pulled up by the party high command. Mr. Yeddyurappa was now approaching various seers and intellectuals to get out of the sticky position . Mr. Shetty said that Mr. Kumaraswamy had not asked for a truth test. He had to react after Mr. Yeddyurappa had challenged him. “The BJP always uses religion to further its political ends,” he said.
