Squint covered under Arogyasri

VIJAYAWADA: Squint cane be corrected among children and this procedure is covered under the Arogyasri scheme of the State Government, according to Sankara Eye Hospital at Pedakakani in Guntur. Aarogyasri covers the following types of squint and child ophthalmic surgeries with codes: S.3.5 - Squint Corrections; S 3.5.1 - Rectus Muscle Single; S 3.5.2 - Rectus Muscle Two/Three; S 3.5.3 - Oblique Muscle; S.3.6 – Retinopathy; S.3.7 - Paediatric Cataract; S.3.8 – Glaucoma. The retina-related surgeries covered under Arogyasri are Codes S.3.2.3; S.3.3.1 and S.3.3.2.

The cataract (IOL) cannot be done under Aarogyasri, as the State Government had not included cataract in the scheme.
