Student wants to design vehicles without fuel
Namakkal: S. Vishnuprakash of Salem, who emerged first in the state among vocational stream students in the Anna University rank list for engineering seat, wants to design vehicles that would run without fuels.
“I want to help the common man from spending lot of money on fuel – the price of which is increasing day-by-day – and to save earth from global warming”, he said.
Vishnuprakash says that he was motivated to join mechanical engineering by his cousin who is a research scientist with a renowned car manufacturer (Ford).
His father K. Sethupathy who is a teacher says that his son took interest in visiting small scale industries during his free time and also had hands on training with help from those working there.
To make is dream come true – doing research to run vehicles without fuels – he said that he wants to make battery operated cars that could run for long distances. “I am planning to start with two-wheelers and if it comes out successfully and will try doing similar research on light motor vehicles too.”
