Bangalore University notice to colleges
BANGALORE: It has come to the notice of Bangalore University (BU) that 77 affiliated colleges have illegally permitted candidates to appear for the sixth semester examinations held from May 2 to 27, though they had not paid fees for the fifth semester and had not appeared for exams in that semester.
As many as 195 such candidates had been allowed to appear for the Internal Assessment (IA) without fulfilling these pre-requisites.
As per regulations, if candidates have not paid fees for the fifth semester examinations and have not appeared for the exams in that semester, they cannot be permitted to appear for the sixth semester exams, despite the carryover. Further, the colleges have even submitted the IA marks to the university. According to rules, the colleges are not supposed to announce the results for the sixth semester even if the candidates have appeared for the exams as they were allowed to attempt the papers illegally.
