Rajasekar enters last eight with a hard-fought victory

Coimbatore: S. Rajasekar (Jenney) scored a hard-fought 21-12, 17-21, 21-18 win over K. Varun (AKYBC) and entered the under-17 boys' singles quarterfinals in the United India Insurance District-ranking badminton tournament here on Monday.

Bharathi, Priya top

G. Mani Bharathi of Ashram MHSS and H. Vishnu Priya of Immaculate MHSS finished on top in the under-19 category for boys and girls respectively in the District selection trial tournament on Sunday.

The top four players in both sections of the under-19 category will represent the District in the State championship to be held at Rajapalayam from July 8 to 13.
