KOCHI: Kochi's K.P. Shruthy and Anna Jose Kuttan entered the girls' final of the Kerala State junior billiards championship at the Regional Sports Centre here on Monday evening.
Playing her maiden State championship, Shruthy defeated Gopika S. Pai, the favourite and the winner of the recent RSC summer campers' tournament here, 53-23 in a 30-mintue semifinal while Anna Jose beat Cynda Percy 51-39.
Meanwhile, the host RSC's Aby Sunny Anthraper edged past Kottayam YMCA's Mathew Chandy 108-105 and entered the junior boys' billiards quarterfinal.
The results: Men's snooker: Pre-quarterfinal (best of 5 frames): Jease Kuriakost (Ktm YMCA) bt Vithal Parekh (CC, Kzd) 25-47, 57-15, 48-32, 51-28.
Junior boys billiards: Pre-quartefinal (one-hour game): Aby Sunny Anthraper (RSC, Ekm) bt Mathew Chandy (Ktm YMCA) 108-105.
Junior boys snooker: Pre-quarterfinal (best-of-3): Abraham C. John (Ktm YMCA) bt S. Vignesh Raj (RSC) 85-60, 75-19.
