Film, photography contest next month

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Vizag Film Society and the Frameboxx Animation and VFX will organise a short film and photography awards event on July 16 and 17. The competition is in documentary, short film, and photography (nature and portrait) categories. The films should not be more than 20 minutes in duration. Short films made between January 2009 and July 2011 are eligible for participation. Announcing details at a press conference, VFS honorary secretary Narava Prakasa Rao and joint secretaries M.G.V. Prasad and G. Raghu and Centre Head of Frameboxx M. Laxmi Jagannadh told reporters that the competition was being conducted to provide a platform for young professionals to find their feet and build a career in films, advertising, and allied fields. The entries should be in Telugu, Hindi, and English. Entries in other languages will be allowed if sub-titles are provided. Two entries in DVD format should be submitted for films. Winners in each category will be given three awards.

Mr. Prakasa Rao said a five-member jury would be formed. The last date for sending entries is July 10.

The entries will be screened on July 16 and 17 and prizes announced. Entries should be sent to: Frameboxx Animation and VFX, Andhra Bank Building, Dwarakanagar, Visakhapatnam. Details can be had on 9966409389, 9849684488, and 9440675955.
