CUDDALORE: Collector V. Amuthavalli has said that a Rs. 1-crore proposal has been sent to the Tourism Department for giving facelift to the Silver Beach and improving amenities. Addressing a press conference here, she said that following requests by parents and students, the Chief Educational Officer had been directed to instruct schools concerned to display the new fee structure determined by Justice Raviraja Pandia Committee on their notice board. Work on the underground drainage project had been expedited and no-objection certificate obtained from the PWD (Water sources) for handing over the Jawans' Bhavan—Khammiampettai road to the Highways Department for re-laying the road at a cost of Rs. 1.3 crore.
