Mysore: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should take the initiative to convene a session of Parliament in south India, F.M. Khan, former MP, has said. Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Mr. Khan, who released a copy of a letter written to Dr. Singh, said he had made a similar plea to the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. A majority of the MPs had endorsed the idea then, according to Mr. Khan, who was a confidant of Indira Gandhi. Now a resident of Boikeri, in Kodagu, Mr. Khan said he had also requested her to establish a Supreme Court Bench in the South. File clearance The Prime Minister should send out a tough message to all concerned on clearance of files in government offices. No file should be kept for more than a week, and anybody violating this rule should be made liable for punishment, Mr. Khan suggested, and added that it would bring down corrupt practices. Saying that the objectives of social activist Anna Hazare and yoga guru Ramdev on eradicating corruption in the country were correct, Mr. Khan added other demands might not go down well.
