Tension in Hosdurg beach area

Staff Reporter

KANHANGAD: Tension prevailed in the Hosdurg beach area where miscreants damaged a house and vehicles early on Monday. Three persons were injured when soda bottles were thrown at them.

The house belongs to Malini, whose husband is working in a Gulf nation, the police said. The miscreants also attacked a car parked on the residential premises, smashing its windowpanes, a motorbike, and a local club.

The attack is believed to be the sequel to a similar attack on a building housing the Indian Union Muslim League office late on Sunday night, the police said.

The injured persons are being treated at the district hospital and private hospitals here. Police officials, led by Joshy Cheriyan, Circle Inspector of Police, Kanhangad, visited the area. Additional police forces are camping in the area.
