Student toppers among BC honoured

felicitation:B. Maheswari, Collector, giving away cash prize to a student in Pudukottai on Monday.
PUDUKOTTAI: Collector B.Maheswari presented cheques to candidates belonging to the backward and minority communities who secured top ranks in SSLC and Plus Two examinations held in March/April this year.
In all 38 students got the cheque totalling Rs. 52,500 on the occasion.
In the backward community category, eight students who secured top ranks in the SSLC and four students in the Plus Two got the prize.
Among the most backward community students, nine in SSLC and five in Plus Two got the cheques while in the minority community category, six each in SSLC and Plus Two got the cheques.
The first, second and third prize for the SSLC category was Rs. 1,500, Rs.1,000 and Rs.500.
The corresponding prize for the Pus Two students was Rs.1,500, Rs. 1,200 and Rs.1,000.
G.S. Ramadoss, District Revenue Officer; and M. Jayachandran, District Backward Classes Welfare Officer were present.
