AKNU affiliation process to be accelerated

50-day programme for giving shape to AKNU



RAJAHMUNDRYIncharge Vice-Chancellor of Adikavi Nannaya University Allam Apparao has announced that the affiliation process of colleges will be accelerated with supportive G.O.s and a research centre will be established to work on the great social reformist Kandukuri Veeresalingam in the University.

Addressing ‘Management Meet' of all the affiliated colleges in East and West Godavari districts on Monday at Velugubanda, Prof. Apparao said that primarily they will start affiliating PG Centers in Tadepalligudem and Kakinada and then go for Degree colleges.

He said that affiliation of Vocational, Law and B.Ed., Colleges will be on their choice i.e., they can affiliate with JNTU-K or AKNU.

However, he made it clear that establishing a University is not an easy task and he had drafted 50-day programme for giving a shape to AKNU.

Responding to the speakers wish, that he be made permanent V-C, Prof. Apparao thanked one and all, but said that it is the government to decide his future after 50 days.

Minte Padmanabham, President of the Godavari Sadhana Samiti, which fought for getting University for two Godavari districts assured that the Samiti with representation from all sections of two districts is ready to share the burden of developing the University and recalled how the Samiti fought in 2005 to break up from Andhra University.

Chiranjeevini Kumari has asked the Incharge Vice-Chancellor to expedite the process of affiliation, design new courses and tap the resources available in two districts. Satyanarayana, Y.N. College, Narsapur, Tammaiah from Penugonda, Satyanarayana, Principal, Government PR College, Kakinada, Bhushan Kumar and Suryanarayana of Vishnu Engineering College, Bheemavaram have asked the Vice-Chancellor to shape AKNU on the lines of JNTU-K and also appealed to the government to continue Prof. Allam Apparao as Vice-Chancellor.

Bhargava Rammohana Rao, Registrar of AKNU, Suresh Varma, Principal of University, M.G. Moses, Principal, Government Arts College, Rajahmundry, P. Ramani, Principal, SKR Women's College, Rajahmundry, Viswam, Jasti Janardhana Murthy, Jakkampudi Raja and others were felicitated on the occasion.

American Society for Quality Services, USA has selected Prof. Allam Apparao as Best Vice-Chancellor in South India and gave certificate of appreciation.
