A campaign: BJP national spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman addresses an anti-corruption meet in Thrissur on Monday. THRISSUR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman has said that all recent corruption scandals in the country had a pattern. She was addressing an anti-corruption meet here on Monday. “Investigations into all recent corruption scandals in the country have a pattern. The UPA denies the charges when the scandal is uncovered and orders an investigation as protests mount. The Centre appoints a committee for inquiry and later denies its findings. Delay tactics are employed at every phase of investigation. During the process, most of the important documents related to the scandals go missing. The whole episode reveals the fact that corruption is perpetrated with the full knowledge of the Prime Minister,” she said. She alleged that the UPA government was giving low priority to governance. “The Centre is not bothered about the people's troubles over rise in the prices of essential commodities and petroleum products. Internal security is under threat. It shows that the Congress has not changed since the days of the Emergency,” she said. She said the UPA government could not answer serious questions about black money.
