State urged to withhold posting of ITDA PO

Staff Reporter

ONGOLE: The Prakasam District Development Review Committee meeting on Monday decided to recommend to the State government to withhold posting to Mr K Ramesh, who has been transferred and posted as PO of Integrated Tribal Development Agency Project, Srisailam recently, from ITDA, Nellore.

Chairing the DDRC meeting, Rural Development Minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasad Rao, incharge Minister of Prakasam district, concurred with Municipal Administration Minister M Mahidhar Reddy that posting should be withheld ‘in the interest of tribals' and a recommendation to this effect should be sent to the State government.

Mr Reddy drew the attention of his Cabinet colleague that the officer had done ‘injustice' to Yanadis while working as the ITDA Project Officer in Nellore to improve the lot of Yanadis in the districts of Prakasam, Chittoor, Nellore and Kadapa districts. “Yanadis in Prakasam district have not benefitted from a single economic support scheme during his tenure,'' Mr Reddy alleged. Earlier, Zilla Parishad Chairperson K Arunamma pressed for creation of ITDA exclusively for Prakasam district to take care of the welfare of tribal groups of Yanadis, Chenchus and Sugalis.
