MYSORE: The Janata Dal (Secular), Mysore unit, staged a protest here on Monday against the Union Government over the increase in prices of LPG, diesel and kerosene. Describing the decision as “anti-people”, party activists, who staged the protest in front of the bust of Mahatma Gandhi on Vani Vilas Road here, termed it as “rubbing salt into the wound of the common man”. ‘Indifferent' They claimed that the fuel price hike proved that the Centre had no concern for the country's poor and middle-class. “It is not the first time that the United Progressive Alliance has been apathetic to the country's poor and middle–class. It has been increasing prices of petroleum products ever since it came to power at the Centre,” they charged. Rollback sought Demanding the immediate rollback of prices, the party workers threatened to intensify their protests if it was not done. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) too condemned the hike in fuel prices.
