New Delhi: The pleasant spell of weather continued in most parts of North India on Monday with monsoon rain lashing the region even as four persons died in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh. Rain in the national Capital for the second consecutive day brought the temperature down besides slowing movement of traffic and causing water-logging at some places. The minimum temperature in the city was 26.4 degrees Celsius, and the maximum 34 degrees. Several places in Punjab and Haryana received rain with Chandigarh recording a rainfall of 44 mm by early morning. Four persons, including a woman, were killed in separate incidents of wall collapse and lightning in Kanpur Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, which was hit by moderate to heavy rains. Rain was reported from Fatehgarh, Hapur, Banda, Basti, Lalitpur, Jhansi , Ballia, Banda, and Kanpur. Several areas in Rajasthan received showers with Pilani recording 27.2 mm rainfall since Sunday. - PTI
