‘Zilla Parishad remained a role model for all the other government departments'

Venu Gopalakrishna lauded for making best use of the available technology

KAKINADA: The general body meeting of the East Godavari Zilla Parishad turned into a felicitation to the elected representatives, as it was the last meeting of the present body, the term of which was going to be expired within a month from now. Chairman Ch. Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna tabled the proposal of felicitations and began with Minister for Stamps and Registrations Tota Narasimham. Later, all the MLAs, MLCs, ZPTC members and Mandal Parishad Presidents were felicitated. A shawl and memento each were presented to all the elected representatives.

Later, cutting across the party lines, all the elected representatives showered praises on the functioning of Mr. Venu Gopalakrishna and wished him a bright future in active politics. Mr. Narasimham said that the Zilla Parishad remained a role model for all the other government departments at the State-level. “The digitisation of Zilla Parishad records inspired me and made me think about digitisation of the records of the Stamps and Registrations department,” he said. Recalling the good works done by the Zilla Parishad in the last five years, Mr. Narasimham said that providing furniture to the schools and distribution of books were the laudable gestures of the Zilla Parishad.

MLC and president of the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) district N. Chinna Rajappa said that some works remained incomplete in the last five years and taking up repairs to the roads was one such work.

MLA Pilli Subhash Chandrabose lauded Mr. Venu Gopalakrishna for making better use of the available technology and installing facilities like video conferencing in the Zilla Parishad. MLC from the TDP Boddu Bhaskara Rama Rao said that Zilla Parishad was a good platform for those who begin their political career.

MLA Kurasala Kanna Babu wanted the ZPTCs to make better use of their remaining tenure to strengthen the assets of the Zilla Parishad and to protect them from encroachments. MLAs Raja Ashok Babu, Parvatha Chitti Babu and Rapaka Vara Prasad lauded the Zilla Parishad Chairman and members for improving the revenues from sand senerage and spending it on education and other activities. Mr. Venu Gopalakrishna thanked all the elected representatives and officials for extending their cooperation in the last five years. Collector M. Ravi Chandra, Zilla Parishad CEO B. Bhavani Das and others were present.
