New Delhi-Meerut high-speed trains coming

Meerut: A proposal for a high-speed train service connecting Delhi and Meerut is likely to get the Centre's approval later this month, officials said here on Monday. The project plan will be placed before the Union Urban Development Ministry this Wednesday and its approval is expected, they said.

The proposed trains will run at a speed of 100 km per hour between Anand Vihar station in Delhi and Begum Pul via Pallavpuram in Meerut.

The proposed route would enable the commuters to cover the distance between Delhi and Meerut in just one hour. - PTI
