MANGALORE: A new sunni Muslim organisation bringing its two factions together has come into existence under the chairmanship of Anwar Manipady, chairman, Karnataka State Minorities Commission. The organisation will be called “Sunni Muslim Jamaat Okkoota” and will function for Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts to begin with. Mr. Manipady told presspersons on Saturday that the two factions of sunni sect had misunderstood each other. The okkoota would provide the forum to bring them together.
