ATR: online reply system favoured

Hyderabad: The District Review Committee meeting held here on Monday was a stormy affair. The replies given in the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the queries raised during the previous DRC meeting left the members fuming as they were either incomplete or irrelevant.

Since the meeting was taking place after the gap of one year, the replies did not reflect the reality. The legislators were unhappy that the assurances given were still not fulfilled. The irrelevant replies showed that the observations made by the members were not properly noted down. District in-charge Minister J. Geetha Reddy felt there ought to be a recording system so that the members were given the correct replies.

She agreed with the suggestion of K. Nageshwar (MLC) that an online reply system would be of great help. The officials need not wait for the next DRC to furnish the action taken report. As and when the problem is addressed the matter should be communicated to the members.

GHMC commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu wanted the members to circulate the questions they were going to raise earlier so that the officials could come prepared and a meaningful discussion could take place. G. Kishan Reddy (BJP) said the information given about completion of the Premnagar park in his Amberpet constituency was wrong.

M. Shashidhar Reddy, vice chairman, National Disaster Management Authority, asked the Hyderabad collector, Natrajan Gulzar, to record the proceedings and furnish proper replies.
