APTDC: beware agents collecting excess fare

Staff Reporter

Those who have paid excess fare can approach Central Reservation Office for refund

HYDERABAD: Next time when you are booking tickets for any tour conducted by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC), make sure you are paying the prescribed tariff as some agents are collecting excess fare from tourists.

These malpractices came to light when APTDC conducted raids recently. It was found that agents had collected excess tariff from some tourists, including K. Rajender Reddy, G. Mahadevi, A. Anil Kumar, K. Surjit Kumar and Ch. Mallaiah.

Refunded

However, APTDC refunded the excess fare to tourists in an effort to keep-up the organisation's credibility and image.

APTDC further notified that if any tourists had paid excess fares to agents, such tourists could approach the Central Reservation Office at Basheerbagh with evidence, enabling refund after proper scrutiny, said a press release.

Lodge complaints

In case of excess fare demanded by the agents, tourists could lodge complaints by sending Short Message Service (SMS) to 99481-70000.
