Adarsh Vikram in semifinals

Coimbatore: Adarsh Vikram of Stanes AIHSS bounced back from a set deficit to oust M. Harikrishna of AKYBC 19-21, 21-10, 21-12 in an under-19 quarterfinal clash of the United India Insurance District-ranking badminton tournament here on Tuesday.

K. Sriram, J. Naveen and Rakesh D. Madan (all from AKYBC) coasted to comfortable wins for a place in the last four.

Manikandan sparkles

At Udhagamandalam, a fine piece of bowling by medium-pacer N. Manikandan (four for 3) enabled New Star Cricket Club score a 55-run win over Wonder XI Cricket Club in the NDCA T20 knockout cricket tournament, for the Sankaran Memorial Rolling Trophy, at the Lawrence School grounds on Tuesday.

The scores: New Star CC 149 for five in 20 overs (A. Franklin 46 not out, A. Sundaramoorthy 31) bt Wonder XI 94 (N. Manikandan four for 3) .
