Fuel price hike opposed

Staff Correspondent

DAVANGERE: Activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Narayana Gowda faction) on Tuesday protested against the increase in the prices of cooking gas and kerosene by cooking food at Gandhi Circle, using firewood as fuel.

Activists led by Rame Gowda staged demonstrations while women activists of the vedike prepared food.

The women raised slogans against the Union Government while cooking, providing entertainment to large numbers of onlookers.

Later, the activists took out a procession to the Deputy Commissioner's office and submitted a memorandum in which they strongly criticised the Government for hiking the prices of the cooking gas, kerosene, petrol and diesel.
