ABVP in agitation mode

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: Akhil Bharathiya Vidyarthi Parishad regional secretary Ch. Naresh said that their organisation mobilised support from student to abstain from classes in protest against the lack of facilities at the private, municipal corporation and Government aided schools in the city.

Stating that presently the education was in disarray in the State, Mr. Naresh said that even about 20 days after the reopening of the schools, the students had not been provided with the necessary textbooks and uniforms so far.

There was a need for filling up the teacher vacancies in the government schools besides providing basic amenities there.

Mr. Naresh said that it was unfortunate that the Government was closing down some schools and withdrawing some teacher posts in the name of rationalisation, which should be stopped forthwith in the interests of the students.

He demanded that the district administration take action against the privately managed and corporate schools as they were unlawfully collecting exorbitant fee from the parents.
