PUDUCHERRY: A Congress party delegation led by chief of Pradesh Congress Committee A.V. Subramanian left for New Delhi on Wednesday. The delegation includes former Chief Minister V. Vaithilingam and party legislators. Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Vaithilingam said they would meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and discuss the political situation in the Union Territory. On the reason for boycotting the Assembly on Wednesday, Mr. Vaithilingam said it was a token protest by the party against the decision taken by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy to retrench workers appointed by the erstwhile Congress government.
