Kageri bats for Kannada

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri has said that Kannada can be saved if primary education is offered compulsorily in the language.

He was speaking at an inaugural function of JSS Nursery, Higher Primary and High School building at Santhemaralli on Tuesday.

The Minister said the Government had accorded priority to Kannada at the primary school level.

Excise Minister and district in-charge M.P. Renukacharya inaugurated the computer centre. Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Math, MP for Chamarajanagar R. Dhruvanarayana, Mallikarjunappa, MLC, chairman of the Dr. Ambedkar Development Corporation A.R. Krishnamurthy, and MLA for Kollegal G.N. Nanjundaswamy were present.
