COIMBATORE: Chairman of Ganga Hospital J.G. Shanmughanathan and Academic Director of the hospital's Post-graduate Institute of Orthopaedics M.V. Daniel have been chosen by The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University for its Lifetime Achievement Award.

The awards will be presented to them on Doctors' Day on July 1. An anaesthetist, Dr. Shanmughanathan established Ganga Hospital that specialised in orthopaedics, spine and microsurgery. He is being recognised for establishing the hospital that also serves as a teaching institution in these fields of medicine.

Dr. Daniel had served as an orthopaedic surgeon in Christian Medical College at Vellore, at K.G. Hospital in Coimbatore, before his present assignment, a press release from the hospital said on Wednesday.
